[MapleStorySEA] Random helpful tips for playing MapleStorySEA, which may or may not be in the other notes

Contents page: https://maplestoryseatips.blogspot.sg/2016/03/maplesea-contents-page-of-facebook-notes.html

(The note where the weblinks to the other notes are.)

=

1) Suspicious cubes, which can be obtained from the rewards of Polo and Frito portals (not the only source of suspicious cubes), which appear in monster maps,

i) have a very high chance of changing the normal potential of eq/wep (equipment/weapons) from epic to rare; and

ii) have a very low chance of changing the normal potential of eq/wep from rare to epic.

=

2) Resurrection flames can be used to change the additional stats, which are shown in green in the normal stats section (which is not the normal potential section and not the additional potential section). The best resurrection flame is the Rainbow Resurrection Flame, which some events give.

=

3) The meso cost for revealing the normal potential of eq/wep is very high for eq/wep which are higher than lv120, as compared to the meso cost for revealing the normal potential of eq/wep which are at most lv120.

i) As much as possible, do reveal the normal potential of eq/wep which are at most lv120, for a chance to get normal potential boosts which give + % primary stats, and/or + % all stats. This can help boost the damage range of characters.

ii) You are free to choose whether or not you want to reveal eq/wep between lv121 and lv139.

iii) For lv140+ eq/wep, it is safe to reveal eq/wep with additional stats being + ?% to all stats, where ? represents a number which is 3 or more.

=

4) Damage reflect of Reflective Elite monsters in monster maps:

i) The damage reflect status effect is active and inactive in periodic cycles of time.

ii) Please kindly wait for at least 3 seconds after the damage reflect status effect disappears before attacking monsters with the damage reflect status effect.

iii) The damage reflect status effect of Reflective Elite monsters is shown as a rotating eye. This effect can spread to nearby monsters.

iv) To avoid likely death of (player) characters, do not attack Reflective Elite monsters, AND monsters around them. You can choose to change the channel your character is using; or wait until the Reflective Elite monster disappears, and the damage reflect status of the Reflective Elite monster disappears from the nearby monsters.

=

5) Damage reflect of bosses (including non-expedition bosses, and expedition bosses):

i) The damage reflect status effect is active and inactive in periodic cycles of time.

ii) Please kindly wait for at least 3 seconds after the damage reflect status effect disappears before attacking monsters with the damage reflect status effect.

iii) The damage reflect status effect of bosses with the damage reflect status effect, is shown as a purplish-black
symbol above the bosses, when the damage reflect status effect of such bosses is active.

In addition, the normal and Mystic Gate forms of the Time Temple ice(regret) region boss Lilynouch (ice horse chess piece boss), glows purple when activating their damage reflect status effects.

=

6) Power Elixirs (untradable and tradable), heal 100% HP and 100% MP per use, so it is good to get more of them, to fight bosses with the 1 hp/1mp effect (which can be a close-range or a long-range attack).

The final boss of the Monster Park dungeon (Dead Mine region - inside the Dead Mine), has 1 hp/1mp long-range attack. Please kindly remember to use Power Elixirs when fighting this boss.

The Friday rewards for Monster Park give a few million mesos.

=

7)

Meso Cost Problems:

The meso cost of leveling-up the lv200+ Arcane Symbols (of the Arcane River regions), and the meso-cost of unlocking V Core slots in the V Matrix (accessible via the V job (5th job) tab in the skill window of the player character), is extremely expensive.

The cost of purchasing Mastery Books for 4th job, from NPC (non-playable character) Booklerman in Leafre Town, is expensive.

Meso Cost Solutions:

You can use Silent Crusade coins, which can be obtained by hunting level-range bosses and Mystic Gate bosses in normal monster maps, as well as Snowman and Riche in the El Nath Dead Mine region (before entering the actual Dead Mine).

According to the meso-earning note and the merged lv1 to lv250 training note, you can use both the Black Bean method (repeatable - 5 times daily); and the Korean Folk Town warning sign/wanted poster quests (not repeatable) to earn a lot of mesos. Also, the Friday rewards for Monster Park give at least 100,000 Mesos each.

Please kindly refer to the meso-earning note for finding out how to fight Black Bean; and kindly refer to the
merged lv1 to lv250 training note for the Korean Folk Town warning sign/wanted poster quests (gives a lot of EXP and mesos at around lv125).

Moreover, you can learn the 2 primary professions Mining and Herbalism, and use the NPC Chat/Harvest (the name may have been changed) key to mine/harvest in lv100+ monster maps. You can also learn alchemy after learning herbalism, to be able to disassemble eq/wep using the button at the bottom left of the inventory window, near the Alchemy NPC in Ardentmill (Most towns > Quick Move > Ardentmill (Golden portal with a book on top)).

Moreover, reaching lv6 Alchemy allows a player character to reveal the normal potential of eq/wep, which are lv120 and below, for free.

The Mining, Herbalism and Alchemy items which can be sold are listed in the meso-earning note. They can be sold in Maple Auction to other players (Most towns > Quick Move > Maple Auction)

=

8) The Character Card System has been replaced with the Maple Union System. Please kindly refer to the Maple Union note for the specific Maple Union characters to be trained, and equipped in Maple Union, for specific main characters. The Maple Union note also shows where to equip characters in Maple Union.

=

9) With regards to Maple Union, the other skills to train for specific main characters is found in the Lists of characters to train for specific main characters note.

=

10) Information for some of the other skills (with regards to Point 9) can found in the Part 2 of 2 note.

=

11) The lv90, lv115 and lv140 accessory sets (all three sets have damage-range-boosting set effects) have their notes in the Contents Page note.

=

12) Monster Farm (Monster Life) and Soul Enchanter/Boss Soul have their notes in the Contents Page note.

=

13) Unlocking the pocket equipment slot, requires the Charm trait to reach lv30. Therefore, it is not necessary to train the Charm trait beyond lv30. The trait note states some ways to earn trait EXP for the Charm trait. Please also kindly take note that gaining 1 fame also gives the character 1 Charm trait EXP.

=

14) Advice on training the Hyper Stat Points and the Hyper Skills can be found in the Hyper Stats and Skills Note.

=

15) Honor Points can be unlocked using the light bulb quest at the left of the screen, at lv30, lv50 and lv70.

The 3 inner ability lines are unlocked at these levels.

It would be good to:

1) Use honor points to try to unlock the Epic Rank for the 3 lines of stats; then

2) lock the Epic Rank, and try to get + primary stat(s), and/or +wa/ma (+weapon attack/magic attack), according to your characters' jobs; taking note that you should lock the lines which have + primary stat , and/or +wa/ma.

4) Only if your characters have enough honor points, you may aim to get the Unique Rank, taking note that you should lock the lines which have + primary stat , and/or +wa/ma.

Note: "primary stat(s)" is used above, because most jobs have only one primary stat and one secondary stat; while only Xenon has three primary stats and no secondary stats.

=

16) The recommended Explorer skills to steal for Phantom, as recommended by a MapleStorySEA player friend, is stated in the related note:

http://aminoapps.com/p/4zl04t

1) 1st job Dark Sight from an explorer thief (Shadower, Dual Blade or Night Lord).

2) 2nd job Rage from Hero.

3) 3rd job Cross Over Chains from Dark
Knight.

4) 4th job Advanced Blessing from Bishop.

5) I apologise, I do not know which Hyper skill is the best, but I am using Bowmaster's Hyper skill Preparation, which is a skill buff, and which is not an attack An alternative is Hero's Hyper skill Valhalla.

Related question:

Which explorer thieves have the 1st job skill Haste?

Answer:

Only Shadower, and Night Lord.

This is because Blade Master's related (1st job: I+) skill is Self Haste.

Note:

The buffed damage ranges of Demon Avenger, Dark Knight, and Phantom using Dark Knight's 3rd job skill Cross Over Chains, increase as each of their HP increases.

Thank you.

=

17) The lv10 Empress' Blessing link skill from the 5 lv120+ Knights of Cygnus (not Mihile) is important as it (only) provides + status resistance and + % elemental resistance.

=

18) Be careful of the random flying monster in the lv200+ Arcane Region monster maps, as it does 10% of your buffed HP as damage to your character, and disables potion use - defeat it as soon as possible. If possible, there are some jobs like Bishop, which have skills (with and without cooldown) which heal HP (not just the 2nd job skill Heal of Bishop) - for example, Bishop's Angel's Ray (4th job), Bishop's Holy Magic Shell (3rd job), and Bishop's Holy Fountain (3rd job).

=

19) It is possible to defeat an Arcane River region monster with one 4th job skill attack, only if you have at least 2 times of the Arcane Force, as compared to the Arcane River region monster (as shown on the monster map which the Arcane River region monster is).

=

20) Do make good use of event coin shops and events to get Core Gemstones and Arcane Symbols for the 5th job of characters.
I personally use event coins to purchase Core Gemstones for my Bishop main character (my only lv200+ character).
Moreover, I also use other events to get Arcane Symbols.
***Therefore, in the case for which I have purchased all available Core Gemstones in the event shop, if I have the time, I can purchase the Selective Arcane Symbol x1 Coupon, and choose the Arcane Symbol: Chew Chew Island, since it is very difficult for me to clear the Easy mode for the Hungry Muto Party Quest of Chew Chew Island.***
Core Gemstones and Arcane Symbols do drop from Arcane River region monsters.
However, please kindly note that Arcane Symbols only drop from Arcane River region monsters, only after the Arcane River regions' storyline quests have been completed. Arcane Symbols also have a much lower drop rate as compared to Core Gemstones.
=

21) The amount of extra Arcane Force required to receive 1 damage from Arcane River region normal monsters are as follows:

[1] 40 extra Arcane Force for the 1st Arcane River region Road to Extinction (Nameless Village);

[2] 80 extra Arcane Force for the 2nd Arcane River region Chew Chew Island (Chew Chew Village);

[3] 120 extra Arcane Force for the 3rd Arcane River Region Lacheln (Dream City Lacheln);

[4] 160 extra Arcane Force for the 4th Arcane River Region Arcana;

[5] 200 extra Arcane Force for the 5th Arcane River Region Morass; and

[6] 240 extra Arcane Force for the 6th Arcane River Region Esfera.

=
22) After the Black Mage content patch update, there is a [Weekly] light bulb quest available, which requires two days of completing the first Arcane River region - Road to Extinction (Nameless Village)'s [Daily] quests. The reward is 3 Core Gemstones.

From http://www.maplesea.com/updates/view/v180_black_mage_patch_notes/#1

"

Core Gemstone Weekly Quest

A new quest [Weekly Quest] A Reward for My Thorough Investigation has been added. This quest can be completed by completing [Daily Quest] Investigate the Road to Extinction twice.

[Weekly Quest] A Reward for My Thorough Investigation rewards 3 Core Gemstones upon completion.
"

=

23) The 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Arcane River regions (Chew Chew Island, Lacheln, and Arcana) now have daily mobbing quests, for 4, 4, and 8 Arcane Symbols respectively.

=
24) The maximum level for V Matrix Point Enhancement, for a V Core, is level 5.
V Matrix Points are obtained, as a lv200+ character levels up.

The maximum level for V Matrix Point Enhancement, for a V Core, is level 5.

V Matrix Points are obtained, as a lv200+ character levels up.

1) Use V Matrix Points to boost your 4th job skills and Hyper Attack skill until (+10) each; then

2) For your 1st, 2nd, and 3rd V Core skills until (+5) each; and

3) finally for Decent V Core skills (not your own job's skills) until (+5) each.

This means that V Matrix Points may be averaged out in this way.
Thank you.
=
***1) Taking note that the Master Levels of Level 50 for the 2nd/3rd/4th job skills and the Hyper Attack Skill for each character still remains as they are -
[These skills (and therefore their respective V Cores (5th job Cores)) only require up to ***10*** V Matrix Points each].
***For certain jobs like Bishop, only 4th job skills are used from lv200 onwards (There is no need to link 4th job [attack] skills with 2nd or 3rd job [attack] skills together in the skill window)***;
and also
2) Taking note that the the Master Levels of Level 25 for ***all other*** V Core skills remain as they are;
[These skills (and therefore their respective V Cores (5th job Cores)) only require up to ***5*** V Matrix Points each].
=
***Taking note of the 2 points above***, I would recommend distributing the V Matrix Points to V Cores (in the V Matrix, under the V tab of the skill window, where V represents 5, or the 5th job), as being ***averaged*** out for the:
V Cores which boost the % final damage of the 2nd/3rd/4th job skills and the Hyper Attack Skill (the Hyper Attack Skill for Bishop is Heaven's Door, which prevents death for a character, but has a cooldown time period); and
the V Cores for leveling-up the V Core skills specific to the characters' job (for Bishop's case, I am referring to Prayer and Angel of Libra).
Moreover, I would also like to recommend the *damage-range-boosting (***including*** the V Cores’ [+All Stats] boost)* Decent V Core skills and *** non-Decent*** V Core skills, which ***passively*** boost all stats (STR, DEX, INT and LUK; but not HP) to train (which can be obtained from Core Gemstones); because of the passive boost to (all stats except for HP).

***Note:

[*** Core Gemstones obtained by reaching lv200 from Pink Bean, whenever Pink Bean is released, are tradable.*** Unfortunately, I do not have the time and speed to train Pink Bean to lv200, so ***another way is to purchase (possibly these) Core Gemstones from Maple Auction. The lowest unit price is around 29 million plus mesos (for each Core Gemstone).***]

I would like to recommend players to use:

1) The V Cores which boost all stats;

2) The V Cores which do not boost all stats, but boost skill damage (e.g. The Decent Combat Orders Core Gemstone);

3) The Decent Hyper Body Core Gemstone (It helps characters to "tank" damage from monsters)

for your characters.***
***Note:***

***Only disassemble V Cores which are specific to other jobs which are not your character(s)' jobs); as well as Common V Cores (for all jobs, and which can be Decent V Cores) which happen to be your job's own skills.***
This means that you should only disassemble V Cores which state that they are meant for specific jobs, which usually do not have a passive boost to (all stats except for HP). This also includes common (for all jobs) V Cores which are existing skills which your characters has for your character(s)’ jobs, as illustrated in the following two paragraphs.
The Decent V Cores, which are skills of your character's job should be disassembled, because they do not boost all stats (STR, DEX, INT, and LUK; but not HP). Moreover, they cannot be activated.
One example is that for Bishop, the Decent Holy Symbol V Core, and the Decent Advanced Blessing V Core; do not boost all stats for Bishop, and cannot be used by Bishop. You may use the resulting Core Pieces to obtain a new core. Thank you.

***Exception: Decent Combat Orders ***is required*** (Paladin skill buff, which increases the skill levels of the player character, ***boosts status resistance passively, but does NOT boost all stats passively***; this Decent V Core is recommended for non-Paladin jobs!!!)***

=

*The meso cost of unlocking V Core slots is extremely expensive.* - 1. Decent Combat Orders ***is required***(Paladin skill buff, which increases the skill levels of the player character, ***boosts status resistance passively, but does NOT boost stats passively***; this Decent V Core is recommended for non-Paladin jobs!!!); - 2. Decent Sharp Eyes (Bowman job skill buff, which increases the % critical rate and the % critical damage of the player character, ***boosts all stats (not HP) passively***; this V Core is recommended for non-Bowman jobs!!!)); - 3. Decent Hyper Body (Dark Knight skill buff, which increases the Max HP and Max MP of the player character, ***boosts all stats (not HP) passively***; this V Core is recommended for non-Dark Knight jobs!!!)); - 4. Decent Speed Infusion (Viper skill buff, which increases attack speed; this V Core is recommended for jobs which do not have Speed Infusion!!!))); - 5. Decent Advanced Blessing (Bishop skill buff, which increases weapon attack, magic attack, HP, and MP; this V Core is recommended for non-Bishop jobs!!!))); - 6. Decent Holy Symbol (Bishop skill buff, with increases the % EXP earned from defeating monsters; this V Core is recommened for non-Bishop jobs; but this may be redundant or useless once the player characters reaches the current maximum level for a player character!!!))); = “Please kindly read the following carefully: 1) http://www.maplesea.com/updates/view/v_patch_notes_v162_2/ 2) http://www.maplesea.com/updates/view/v167_patch_notes/ Please also kindly take note that the ***passive*** +all stats boost of Decent V Cores, is likely to boost only STR, DEX, INT and LUK; and not HP, ***passively***. Therefore, there is no need to activate the skills to receive the boosts. Therefore, do not disassemble the ***V Cores which give the passive +all stats boost, and are available to all jobs*** (whether they are Decent V Cores, or not Decent V Cores). The +all stats boost will boost your character(s)' damage range, and such V Cores should be equipped from level 225 onwards. ***Only disassemble V Cores which are specific to other jobs which are not your character(s)' jobs); as well as Common V Cores (for all jobs, and which can be Decent V Cores) which happen to be your job's own skills.*** Relevant information: Do take note that as HP is boosted, the buffed damage range of Demon Avenger, Dark Knight (using its 3rd job Cross Over Chains), and Phantom (using Dark Knight's 3rd job Cross Over Chains by stealing the skill), will be increased. Relevant information: As recommended to me by a MapleStorySEA player friend, Phantom can steal the 2nd job skill Rage from Hero, the 3rd job skill Cross Over Chains from Dark Knight, and the 4th job skill Advanced Blessing from Bishop. Thank you."

Phantom's explorer skills to use:
http://aminoapps.com/p/4zl04t

As recommended by a MapleStorySEA player friend:

1) 1st job Dark Sight from an explorer thief (Shadower, Dual Blade or Night Lord).

2) 2nd job Spirit Blade from Hero.

3) 3rd job Cross Over Chains from Dark Knight.

4) 4th job Advanced Blessing from Bishop.

5) I apologise, I do not know which Hyper skill is the best, but I am using Bowmaster's Hyper skill Preparation, which is a skill buff, and which is not an attack skill. An alternative is Hero's Hyper skill VValhalla.

Related question:

Note:

The buffed damage ranges of Demon Avenger, Dark Knight, and Phantom using Dark Knight's 3rd job skill Cross Over Chains, increase as each of their HP increases.

25) If a player character's fully (completely) buffed % critical rate, *without the level 2 Phantom link skill for +15% critical rate*, reaches 100%; the player character should be able to maintain 100% fully (completely) buffed critical rate, while increasing the player character's critical damage by 4%, with the level 2 Kinesis link skill.

Thank you.
